Stenches in The Trenches at The Time and Tide Museum 2017
Make Do and Mend and Rationing event at The Time and Tide Museum
I am very interested in the home front during World War Two. I run a WW2 home front session and like to go to local 1940s re-enactment events.
1960s Day at Great Yarmouth Library
Visitors were able to look at a range of 60s memorabilia and fashion items.
Seaside Memories Day
I often work at The Time and Tide Museum in Great Yarmouth. This was a special seaside event.
1970s Memories Day at The Time and Tide Museum
This was an opportunity for those who remembered the seventies to look at memorabilia and try on 1970s clothes, such as safari suits, suede waistcoat and skirts, flares and platform shoes.
Courtship and Weddings Talk at a Sheltered Housing Complex in Mattishall.
This was a great fun evening talking about wedding memories and customs and trying on wedding dresses, veils and hats.
Street Party Reminiscence
I held a reminiscence day for the older people in my village. The aim of the day was for everyone to have fun, make new friends and talk about their experiences of past celebrations, street parties and royal occasions.
I like to dress up in different period costumes when I run my sessions. I find the participants feel more relaxed as it breaks the ice and allows people to comment on what you are wearing. It also centres the activity firmly in the area you want to talk about and stimulates conversation.
1950's and 1960's Reminiscence Day
Time and Tide Museum
I ran a session at a local museum's Older People's Day. I had a lovely time and met some fabulous people who came along to look at the memorabilia. The most popular items were an old 50's toaster and a selection of old toys including a Bayko building set which this lady is building a house with.
I really enjoy meeting people and hearing their memories, it is such fun and you never know what you might learn.
Museum of the Broads
I spent a great day at a local museum speaking to people about their memories of washing and cleaning and demonstrating rag rugging.
Time and Tide Museum, Great Yarmouth
I love working at The Tide and Time Museum. It is a wonderful place. This year I had an exhibition of Schooldays Memories.
I was invited to take some memorabilia to a Tea Dance at a local day centre. It was great fun!
